You know, in the end Boston has perfect teeth, no cavities. Its just the getting to that part that took forever. He got to pick out a prize and that seemed to make everything better. I made Natalie give her prize to Boston. I think that was fair. =) ( I hope she has a little girl who does the same thing to her someday. =) what goes around comes around.
The trials and tribulations of trying to raise 6 children while dreaming of quiet country living from my suburban home. Humor, we get through it all with humor. ;)

Boston's trip to the Dentist
Boston had a dentist appt on monday morning and I didnt have a sitter for when Natalie was to get off the bus so I decided to go and pick her up early and not have to worry about it. So Myself and all 3 of my children head off to go and see the Dentist. My kids usually love to go the dentist. They have all sorts of stuff for them to play with there and the environment is very comforting. We pull up into the office parking lot and Natalie announces "Hey Boston, The dentist makes your tounge bleed and cuts your mouth." I wanted to murder that little bundle of 6 year old joy. Immediately Boston starts to panic. We get into the waiting room and Boston starts telling all the other little kids in there as they head in to get their teeth checked "dont let them cut your mouth!" So we get put into a different waiting room cause my children are upsetting others. Urgh. We finally get called back. Boston does really good through his x-rays, and then we get him into "the chair"..........This is Boston Scared out of his little 4 year old wits.
This is him yelling back at the assistant "Don't cut my mouth ok!" ( I kid you not, you cant make this stuff up.)
Clamping his mouth shut. Oh Joy. It took 10 minutes to get him to open it for the dentist to just look in there.

Natalie's 6th Birthday 1-24-2009
So, My baby girl turned 6 this last saturday and we threw her a party at Icicle junction Family Fun Center. I invited her whole class and a bunch of her friends too. About 17 kids were there. She had a great time. I think that she liked the air hockey table more than anything else though. This is Natalie and her friend Brooklyn.
This is Boston and Denver. Denver is Mellisa Hair(Herrera)'s little boy.
Some of the crowd! Wow! Im even partially in this picture!

Natalie embarassed as she is being sang too. Its pretty cute how shy she can get at times. Just like her mama used to be =)

The Ruffle Party
We always have the kids open presents for their birthdays as a family at the Ruffles house. They love it and it always works out that we can watch American Idol at the same time. This is Natalie and her new barbies and clothes.
I made this cake from absolute scratch. Its not as pretty as my others but I was able to get it done in record time. (Ok, so its super ugly. My kids didnt care =))
Boston's 4th Birthday 1-17-2009
So we did the whole Chuck E. Cheese thing for Boston's Birthday. He loved it. All he wanted was to go there and have the day with his cousins.
This Is my brother-in-law Charles, I have more pictures of him making this face than anything else. Sad huh. He is trying to accomplish something with Julian(My nephew)and is failing obviously.
Boston, Adrian, Alicyn, Ashlynn and Lucas. Im not quite sure what we were all waiting for......

Alicia's Product Choice of the Month.......
I'm slacking a little.
I made myself a house cleaning schedule. Im hoping that it will really help me get on top of things. Im not saying that I am a slob or anything, but i have a hard time keeping up sometimes. Flylady helps alot. (http://www.flylady.net/) I just enjoy her layed back style of getting things done.
I am going to be 28 in june. I think that is officially "late" twenties, and Tom and I were talking and the year of our 10 year anniversary is also the year that we turn 30. wow. I think we are going to need to do something awesome for me to cope with that one. I had just turned 20 when we got married. I know, A picture of a picture...bare with me cause I lost both of these in the fire. We have come so far as a couple. Literally growing up together through high school and college, kids, homes, states.....Insane, But worth every minute! I thrive on making him happy. (Tip: Always be happy to see him when he gets home. This little gesture can literally make or break and evening.)
Oh I got Ashlynns papers in the mail. They returned all my papers to me and said that i had to fax them all again because I forgot to add "date of service" to them. Urgh! The entire file couldnt be very big cause her mother moved when she was 8 months old! Jeez.

My screen died on me
so I have to resort to using the office (meaning Tom's home office) computer. Its only available when Tom's employee isnt here. Which sucks for me cause I really like to use it when the kids nap. urgh. I wont be able to post pictures of anything for a few days so you'll all have to bare with me here.
My butt is doing better. =) I can sit now and not want to die.
Lucas pooped in a box in his room and tried to tell me that Boston did it. Boston was at preschool at the time too which made it kinda funny. I guess its good that I can see a little humor in it, otherwise I would be even more nuts than I already am.
My neighbor invited me to coffee this next tuesday. I was soooo happy. That really was the highlight of my day. I am in dire need of "friend time".
Stupid thing of the day: I watched High School Musical and CRIED because it had a happy ending. I am such a dork. I LOVE those movies.

I busted my A$$. Literally
I was picking up Natalie from ballet and I got out of the car with both feet and slipped and both feet came out from underneath me, I landed directly on my tailbone and felt it crack. It hurts sooooo bad. I also wacked my arm on the way down so thats all nice and black and blue too. The worst part about it was that about 6 people were watching! I just wanted to die. Soooo embarassing! My butt is so swollen that it looks like i have a tail nub.
Yeah yeah.....I know.
Have you heard that song "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas? I bawled for about a hour and it is officially one of my new favorites. If I ever make a family video, that would be the background song.
I woke up at about 4 am in a sweat. I didnt feel sick, just hot. So I went downstairs to check the thermostat, It was 86 degrees in our house! I opened the door and let it cool down. I have no idea how that happened! (ok so maybe i have 3 little ideas) but for goodness sake it was hot in here!
I think that we are headed to seattle this weekend to take Boston to Chuckie Cheeses for his birthday. That is all he really wants. Oh, and spiderman underwear. Thats my boy y'all.
I have lately been taken aback at my inability to make friends. Its BAD. I guess im just not a people person. I'm pretty sure that I talk to much too. (I actually won an award in the 7th grade for being the shyest girl in school) I'm just making up for lost time, or at least that is what I tell Tom. I am not a phone talker. I HATE to talk on the phone. I will however, chat up the checkers at safeway, the gas station, the paper boy, the secretary at natalie's school, tom's employees, Tom's Clients, mormon missionaries, door to door salespeople, my friends' parents, the plumber, any and all real estate agents, and ALL bakery personnel. =) If anyone wants to be my friend, let me know...I'll talk you ear off, but hey! Its fun.

Birthday Season
Ive been kinda busy the last few days, running around and just getting things done. Boston's 4th birthday is next saturday and then Ashlynn's 14th is sunday, all followed by Natalie's 6th on the following saturday. Its wearing me out.
I've been noticing that Ive been kind of depressed lately. I think its because I'm lonely. I dont get a real lot of adult time. But we are going on vacation in March and I am really looking forward to just relaxing for a week, my parents are going to watch the kids too! It was really nice of them to offer.
I think it might be birthday season here that is getting me down. I dont like to see years pass and I feel like I havent done enough with them all, Ashlynn is going to be 14 for goodness sake! I feel like I have missed out on so much. I miss her terribly. I am making some scrapbook pages for her book and I was trying to do a newborn page but I dont have a baby picture of her so I did some research and called the hospital that she was born at and asked is they have records of the photos. They dont before 2000. I was upset. Nobody has a picture of this kid as a baby. I did however send for her medical records from that hospital so we could find out how much she weighed at birth. Her mother does not remember. ( I personally dont understand how a mother could not remember!) But, oh well. I hope its in those records.

Family Movie Time
We took the kids to see Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler. It was a really cute movie. Natalie liked it alot and Luke even sat through the whole thing. Icicle Junction up here has a little theater and it only plays one movie, but it was really affordable and kids under 3 were free!

Natalie knew that her dad was having friends over, she cried in bed until she got to get up and see Tom Owens. She LOVES him. Its pretty cute. He really has no idea how to play with kids, but its fun to watch him try.

So today I decide to be a GREAT wife and shovel out infront of the garage so that i can park the car in there. I also shoveled the walkway and walked all the way out to get Natalie off the bus ( the length of 2 acres). Somewhere in the blizzard of snow that we have going on I lost my keys. So now I cant even move the car into the garage that I so lovingly shoveled out for my husband. Jeez...Sometimes I think that he married a retard.

Let it snow!
Luke and Natalie in the snow fort that Tom and Adam built.
The walkway to the mudroom that gets burried on a daily basis.
Natalie in the snowbank.

The creek as of yesterday.
And.....The snow eating machine, Lucas.
Boston in "the cave".
My kids ask to go outsice in the snow at least 10 times a day. Most of the time I let them. 6 boots, 3 hats, 3 coats, 3 snowpants, 6 gloves and they are finally out the door. 10 min later i have a pile of the above in front of my door where they have all come crashing inside announcing they are cold and would like hot chocolate. Only to repeat the process again in about 30 min. God bless kids.

I have grown up. I officially do NOT like to be hit with snowballs. Try telling Tom that. That husband of mine attempts to bean me with one pretty much everytime I set foot outside. I think that he goes back and forth in age from 27 to 13 on a regular basis. I love that man, but for goodness sake! Maybe i'll put snow on his office chair =).
