So I'm procrasinating.
I do not want to do laundry. I've been avoiding it all day and I know that it needs to be done. Ugh.
On to better things. I made sugar cookies today, they were super good. There used to be this place in the Wenatchee mall (back when it was an "inside"mall) called "shellys" I believe. They made the best sugar cookies ever! I have been trying to recreate that recipe for a long time and I think that I've finally got it. Again, they are huge....Im not a fan of small cookies. So here you go.
Alicia's Sugar Cookies
1C powdered sugar
1C sugar
1C butter
1C oil
2 eggs
1t cream of tartar
1t baking soda
1t salt
4 1/2 C Bread flour (you can use AP if you want, I just like the texture of bread flour better)
1t vanilla extract
Mix sugars, butter, oil, and eggs together. Add dry ingredients and vanilla. Refrigerate until firm.
Scoop into balls using a #20 disher (about the size a "normal" ice cream scoop produce, not a cookie baller) Roll balls in granulated sugar or dip tops in coarse sugar. Bake at 325 for 18 min. These are big! Dont let them brown or they will change flavors.

Yummy, they look really good. They make me crave snickerdoodles. I'm so in love with those darn cookies right now, but I'm resisting the temptation since Adam is dieting. :) We'll see how long it lasts.
Maybe you can bring me one of yours. I'll trade you a cookie for a tan? :) he he
MMMM...those look delicious!!
YUM! I remeber that place. Great memories!
