Chicken that is.
I get 4 eggs everyday. 2 white, one light brown, and one dark brown. My white leghorns lay the white ones which are pretty big eggs. But we couldnt figure out who was laying what egg of the brown ones, the light brown egg is significantly smaller than the other 3 eggs and I wanted to make sure that I dont buy anymore of "that breed" in the spring when I replenish my flock. I went out earlier than usual yesterday to gather the eggs and feed and water my hens and lo and behold one chicken was still in the nest box. Its Patchy, Boston's Barred Rock hen. The egg under her was light brown, small and still warm from her body. (and she is my FATTEST chicken!) Sooooo no more Barred Rock chickens for the Sauvageau family.
