Le sigh

I love being a mom.

Did you know that it only takes 1/2 of a roll of toilet paper to completely stop up the toilet and flood the kids' bathroom?
I do now.

Heres a list for you....

What our toilets dont handle well.

  1. Blocks
  2. Matchbox Cars
  3. Little People Figurines
  4. Spare Change
  5. Crayons
  6. Dog Food ( that almost made me puke)
  7. A Size 2T Sweatshirt
  8. Legos
  9. Lincoln Logs

These were not all from Luke either, actually most of them were from Boston.

That sweet Oval headed man of mine.....

We had a great weekend. We headed for the seattle area on friday and first stopped at Deception Falls. That was beautiful! The kids really loved hiking which I thought was weird because they have never really expressed an interest in it before. We stayed the night with Ralph and Sarah. I had a ton of fun there. Their little girl announced to Tom, "Most people have round heads but yours is kinda oval". It was so funny. But he asked me at least 3 times in the car on the way home "Do I really have an oval head?", Silly paranoid man of mine =).
We went to the Mariners game on Saturday with Kevin and Mary and I had a really good time there too. We went and saw their new house and I really liked it. I cant wait to see what they do to it. Kevin very much decorates with his personality. I was sitting next to Kevin and the game and Natalie whispers to me "Mom, I know why you like Uncle Kevin,...cause he's your brother". It was cute but I had to explain that he really isnt my brother and that he is Robin's brother. I think I got her all sorts of confused by the end of that night. We drove to our hotel in Lynnwood and put the kids to bed and both Tom and I crashed. Sunday we took the kids for a swim and then we went to IKEA! I loved it! We spent about 40 bucks but I came out with a TON of stuff! (Including 3 kids step stools, Thanks Sarah!)
The kids started Vacation Bible School yesterday and they love it. Its from 9-12 all week and all of them go. Ive been kinda bored and not able to entertain myself while they're gone.

Ug...A little rant. Yesterday I heard my chickens freaking out and ran down and saw the neighbors husky in my coop. He killed 6 of 10 chickens. I was so angry! That dog has killed 16 chickens on mine in the last 2 months! I was really tempted to leave the dead ones on their porch. (Not the nicest idea, but I was mad!)

Books anb Toys and Computers.....Oh My!

My Children think that the Leavenworth library is the greatest place on the planet. They pick the library over the pool, ice cream, etc....
I thought I would give a little run down of what probably goes through Lucas'(3) head the moment we arrive at the library.

  1. Run through the door even after mommy just said not too.
  2. Notice computers with headphones.
  3. Stalk children currently sitting at the computers with headphones.
  4. Take 1st available computer and YELL "mommy look!"
  5. Get bored after 5 minutes and get up.
  6. Head to kids section and immediately dump out the blocks as loudly as I can manage.
  7. Get up and head to another toy to destroy.
  8. Notice Librarian glaring at me, so I turn the other direction.
  9. See mommy looking at the videos and decide to go and "help" by pulling them all off the shelf for her.
  10. Sing while mommy is checking out.
  11. Mope because mommy makes me clean up my messes.
  12. Get upset and cry when its time to leave because I didnt get enough time at the computer, blocks, books, movies...or anything else that I can muster up.

I love those kids. The older 2 are ususally pretty good in the library. What I find amusing is that we have the exact same computer games at home but the never play them at home. We usually get 3 movies and about 5 books to last a few weeks. We have officially read every Junie B. Jones book available. I love those books, I laugh when I read them. Psst....When Natalie brought home the christmas one from the school library I waited until after she went to bed and sat on the couch and read it. I am a Dork. But thats ok =)

I cant believe that I have written that many blogs. Thats pretty good for me!

Tom worked in Chelan yesterday so we decided to go up with him and spend some time at the lake. We went to Lakeside park and the kids had a great time playing on the toys and in the water. The boys were climbing around on the toys and it took me a few minutes but I noticed something different about lucas....meaning he was naked. Go figure, I yelled to him to put his shorts back on and he just looked at me with a strange face, grunted, then pooped on the ground right there infront of God and everybody. I quit.
We went to eat at the Winery and it was delicious...always is. Then we just drove around the backroads of manson for awhile before heading home. We got home got the kids in pajamas and then i sent sent them in to use the bathroom and brush their teeth. Boston has a few pennies in his hands and he goes pee into the toilet then accidentally drops his pennies in the water, without hesitation he just reaches into the pee water and picks them out and heads off to bed. Gross! I dragged him into the bathroom again and gave a good lecture on hand washing and never picking things out of the toilet. Urgh. I feel the need to wash my hands again, This is going to be a neverending battle.

Oh the last few days....

have been fairly busy for me. I threw a baby shower for my sister yesterday and I think that it turned out OK. I'm not really good at the whole party planning thing. But we played a few games and April got loaded down with baby boy presents. She was happy.
I turned 28 on the 11Th. I'm weirded out that I am officially in my "late" 20's. I got a new set of pots and pans (Yes I asked for them). So now I can cook and have pots with lids that fit =) . I don't get my actual "birthday party" until the 21st. So that my family can incorporate fathers day into the whole thing. Tom and I went out to dinner at the Wild Huckleberry and then went and picked up our kids from my parents and that was that.
On Saturday we took the kids to the Drive in and saw Coraline and Monsters VS Aliens. DO NOT let your children see CORALINE. What a horrid movie. Just some really inappropriate almost nudity and scenarios in an animated fashion. Disgusting and a disgrace to the movie screen. Monsters VS Aliens was funny though. I really liked it (or what I saw of it. Im old remember, I fell asleep.)
Oh! I registered the kids for Vacation Bible School and Fall Soccer this morning. It felt good to get all that done and now I dont have to worry about it. I am going to try and not over schedule them this fall. We will see how I do =)

So what does that make me?

The scrotum saver?

I am really tired of dealing with my boys and their "junk" issues. Today after telling the boys to go clean their room I hear Luke start screaming bloody murder, the "im hurt" kind not the "im mad" kind. So I go running in there and he is standing there butt naked with a clothespin type clip on his balls. The sight was kinda gory(think "Theres something about mary") and it took me a few minutes to get it even loose without breaking the skin. I got it done and he just clung to me and sobbed for about a half an hour before he fell asleep. As I was sitting there holding him I just have to shake my head and laugh a little. This does seem to happen alot. I hope that it dosent do any damage to my grandkids =).

Slow Down!

I wish my life wasnt flying so fast right before my eyes. I watched my baby girl graduate from kindergarten today. Cap and everything and I thought, Its not much longer until she graduates from high school. I seems like I blinked and all of a sudden my "baby" was a "big girl". I took alot of pictures and I hope they turn out ok, It was kind of blurry for me because I was bawling the whole time. Im sure other people there thought I was nuts. Tomorrow is the official last day of school. I am pretty ready for it because I really want to have my munchkins all to myself for a while. We are going to go on alot of outings this summer and I am really looking forward to it. Museums, parks, waterslides, fishing...Im definately going to keep them busy.

Show Em how its done!

So, I bought my kids a slip-n-slide, just a cheap-o one...nothing fancy. I set it up in the yard and they were so excited about it...yet had no idea what to do with it. I told Natalie to run and then slide but she would slow down almost to a stop before she got to the edge of it. The boys just splashed in the spray that came out of the sides of it. So, I had to show them how its done! I got my bathing suit on and started about 25 feet back and ran towards the slide and then totally dove onto it. I went flying not only down the slide but about 6 feet off of the slide on my stomach. Natalie shreiked "Mommy! That was AWESOME!" It was a great mom moment. I felt on top of the world, I love that feeling. They just wanted to be with ME all day after that moment. I dont think that I will ever forget it.

My baby girl is growing up too fast!

Natalie lost her 3rd tooth last night. She was so proud. I cant believe how big she is getting. I took a picture of it but its on my film camera. She told me today about a bicycle assembly that they had at school. I love how interested she is in most everything that goes on around here. She loves to be involved in everything.

A little mommy rant:
I have my children help me in the kitchen. Yep, Its a fact. A lady at the school this morning started raving at me when she found out that my kids help me cook as in : peel vegetables, stir pots, measure ingredients. She was telling me how dangerous it was. Sure, maybe if I left them unattended! Which i NEVER do. My kids even have their own little safety knives (thanks brooke!) that they use to slice carrots, celery and potatoes. I see nothing wrong with knowing that by the time my kids are 8 they could completely cook a full meal! Sheesh lady! Im not an idiot!
