Smoke Anyone?
So I preheat my over so as to put a loaf of rising bread into when it is ready.
Instead I get a kitchen full of smoke. Yeah, Lucas had previously poured orange juice into my oven. ALL OVER THE BOTTOM. When I asked him about it he said, "Mom! I cook!"
Hey......I quit.

Vomitpalooza!
So Lucas woke up screaming at 1 am and he was throwing up all over himself. I scooped him up and took him into his bathroom and as he was leaning over the toilet throwning up he started having diarrea at the same time. OMG I swear I was unaware that a kid could have that much fluid in his little body. I got him, the bedroom, and the bathroom all cleaned up and I got all the laundry thrown into the wash (God Bless Bleach!) and put him back to bed. He woke up with a pretty high fever so he and Tom have just been laying around all day. A few prayers would be appreciated, Its been a difficult week (sick kid wise).
Some blessings when kids are sick
- Bleach...enough said
- Antibacterial soap
- Scented Candles ( I much prefer the scent of mint chocolate over vomited spanish rice...Sorry TMI)
- White Sheets and blankets
- Crib mattress protectors/lap pads. These have been a God send for saving bedding/carpet. I am so happy that I never got rid of them after my kids grew out of the "baby" stage.
- Vaporizer, yeah it pretty much just makes me feel better to have it running. =)
- The ability to deal with it. I love that I have no inhibitions dealing with them when they are losing fluid from every orface of their body.

Living with Spiderman
While dressed in full spiderman attire he colored little spiderwebs onto my couch with ink pen.
At dinner tonight he sang "Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the boobies". I mean....really? He has been obsessed with touching mine lately. Its getting really irritating. Anybody know what the deal is with that? (other that the fact that he is a male child) =)
I quit.

Things to love....
I absolutely adore......
- Cirque Du Soleil
- Autumn
- Babies
- The sound of Boston's little 4 year old snores.
- Having a fire in the fireplace
- The smell of wrapping paper
- Baking cookies, cakes, and pies.
- Southern cooking
- fresh, clean sheets
- Meeting new and exciting people
I absolutely despise.....
- Icy roads
- The "something is rotting" stench that sometimes emits itself from my home in various places.
- The amount of drunk people that I encounter during Oktoberfest.
- folding and putting away laundry (My hubby has been doing it for me lately! =))
- stepping into a puddle of something in socks (clean ones I might add!)
- trying to relate to something you've never experienced.
- Feeling like I am missing out.
- being overly busy. I do like that it is MUCH slower here than in the last town we lived in. things just seem to edge their way by and I am ok with that =))
- Jr High/Highschool kids (I forgot how they stand around in bunches and squeal. I HATE that!)
- BLACK SHARPIES!
So Natalie was a Jr cheerleader at the football game on friday. That was my 1st football game since highschool. Before we left I went to go and get the kids ready and I noticed that both Boston and Luke had shirts on that were colored on in black sharpie(Those things are banned from the Chateau Sauvageau!!) They both in big letters had written on them "Go Natalie!" and a little stick figure cheerleader. She was designing her own fan club! Thats my girl! I cant get mad cause I would totally do that too =) Smart girl.

Oh Snickerdoodles....and a cheerleader too!
I gathered 3 eggs today! Yay! (y'all are going to get tired of my chicken updates soon, but hey...Its my blog =))
So I decided to go ahead and get cracking on my christmas baking. Ive made a few different kinds of cookies and fudge and frozen them with my foodsaver (My kitchen "must have" at my house). However it is incredibly difficult to get a good stash of goodies built up when the Hubby decides that he "needs" some of it. He went and opened some of them today and helped himself.
The boys are doing better. Boston is not 100% yet so I am just going to keep an eye on him and hope that he feels better soon. I hate being helpless when it comes to making them feel better.
My wonderful boss sent me home with some snickerdoodles and Boston thought that was the greatest thing ever. I just love her. She loves my kids and they know it. Thats was really all he ate today, snickerdoodles. I am ok with that as long as he is eating and at least getting some water down. We have the humidifier going at that seems to help both him and Tom to breathe better.
Natalie informed me that she wants to be a cheerleader for halloween. Now I have to try and come up with a costume for that. Maybe i can try and make one? Um....Brooke? Karalee? Anyone!!!
Well Im off to the bakery for the night! Talk at you later!
(Oh! Congrats good friends of ours (you know who you are! )I am Super thrilled for you! Now if we could only con my hubby into complying! Ahem! )

The Flu, the Power, The headache......
The flu has taken over the male part of my family. All 3 boys have it. Natalie and I are just doing our best not to get sick. Poor Boston's eyes are swollen up so huge it looks like he had a good beating.
We got snow last night. We have about an inch on the ground right now but its just raining and making it slushy for me to try and drive in at midnight tonight. I made it out of our driveway last night, I only slid backwards once. yay for me! I got to work and noticed that all the lights were off. But Jake's car was there. I saw him in the window and then noticed that he had candles burning on our workstations. Then the lightbulb went on in my head. The power is out.
Great.
We called the PUD from my cell phone (which was charged, OMG its a miracle!) and were informed that power was not going to be restored to that area of peshastin until 4 am which is when I normally get off work.
Great.
I got to go home and he decided to stick it out. I sure hope that all is well tonight so I can actually get some work done. Driving home I pretty much slid down my driveway and ended up in the lawn while trying not to plow into the garage door. ( I do have mad skills you know) But anyhow....I made it home safe and sound back to my Flu ridden family. What happens next is anyones guess. =)

EeeeK!
Somebody please tell all the creepy animals to get out of my yard! Its fenced for goodness sake! Happy chased off some animal with a LONG black tail this afternoon. All i could see was two hind legs and the tail. It was big. Thats enough for me to want to stay inside.....oh and the freezing weather helps that too.
So while I was pretty much trapped inside I decided to bake (Suprise!). I made Oatmeal butterscotch and walnut cookies and fudge. It was just the right weather to make fudge and the boys were even semi helpful and didnt trash the whole house while i was cooking either. We picked up Natalie from Cheer Camp at 5 and she said that she really liked it. While she was at cheer camp I tried my hardest to think of who the cheerleaders were when I was in high school....I drew a blank for the LONGEST time. I'm just going to guess for my high school buddies on here. Ready?
- Brandi Dechenne
- Syrina Thatcher
Yep. That is all I can think of. Am I right on any of them?
My poor husband is sick. It sounds like he is hacking up a lung. He is trying to bare through it and I feel so bad for him. I just keep making him tea and making hot meals and at least that makes me feel better ( I hope it makes him feel better too.). Poor, sweet man.

Just another day here at the Chateau Sauvageau...
I got my 1st "white" egg this morning. Which means 1 of my 2 white leghorns has started laying. Yay! Pretty soon I will be collecting 4-ish eggs a day. Omlets galore!
I havent gone to work all week because my wonderful coworker Jake has swine flu and I am way to chicken to work from 12-4am by myself . Ummm......creepy. And with cheif outside! Yeah, I think not. (freaking scarecrow!) So I will not be returning to work until tuesday night. I need a new cute apron. (Brooke, do you think you could help me make one? I'll try to keep the foul language to a minimum this time! I am a sewing retard for those who didnt know, Brooke is not.)
I did however take my boys to Smallwoods Harvest a few days ago and that was the 1st time that I have ever been there when they let the llamas out of their cage to just roam around the whole petting zoo. It was Freaking Pandemonium! My kids screamed, I was face to face with the llama that spits. The llama took the feed bag out of my had and took off with it. The donkey hee-hawed in Boston's face and permantly scarred the boy of all things "donkeyish". It is not easy to try and walk out of a petting zoo with two 35ish pound appendages attatched to you when you are just as scared as the kids and trying not to show it!!
My daughter read me a whole book last night. Do you ever just sit there in awe of your child? I cannot believe that she is 6. It seems like she was just learning to walk, now she is taking over the soccer field!? Missing front teeth!? Where has the time gone!

The Evil Serpent
So....Boston and I come walking back toward the house this afternoon after feeding the chickens. Boston is about 6 feet in front of me and screams like a banshee. " A Snake!" So at this point I grab him and leap on top of the hot tub. I can see it on the garden rocks below me and about 3 feet out. Its HUGE! So what do I do you ask? I take Bo inside tell him to stay put and then I run to the office and get Keri (toms employee) to come and help me rid my yard of this evil serpent. She goes after it with a shovel.
I love her.
She is my new hero.
She needs a raise.
I HATE SNAKES!

3 year old boy for sale!
He was supposed to be taking a nap.
Luke pooped into his toy bin, it got everywhere including onto the picture my mom had just crosstiched for Boston, all over the carpet, the bed and the bathroom. When I was all done having him help me clean it up I asked him "Is there anything else you want to tell me?" and he answered "Yes, I peed in my pirate shit." and yes he had.
deep breath alicia..............
I quit.
(If you didnt read previous postings about lucas' speech "Pirate shit" is really pirate ship)

Happy October 1st!
...and Happy Birthday to miss Makaila! The Big 3!
We decorated today, I think that halloween is the best season to decorate for. Its definately my favorite because its not freezing cold outside yet and the fall colors are so stinking beautiful. We out up the huge Scooby Doo in the courtyard along with a 4ft tall Frankenstein. The kids love them and that makes it all worth it.
Boston is doing good, it is extremely difficult to make a 4 year old stay off his feet all day. He just wants to be up and playing! I did force him to snuggle with me a little bit though =). He dosent seem to be in much (if any) pain at all. Thats good, but i still want him to just rest.
So we have this Scarecrow at work named "cheif". I am terrified of that thing. I swear that he moves and at 4am when I get off work my mind is not in a good state to be messed with. I find myself parking as close to the door as I possibly can so that I can just jump in my car and get away from that creepy thing. Jake (my co-worker) thinks its funny that I am scared of it, but secretly I think that he is too. =) Its ok He's 30 and Im 28 and sometimes its alright to be a weenie. I think that this freaky scarecrow qualifies as one of the many stupid things that I am terrified of. You want a list?
Stupid things that Alicia is Scared of
- Scarecrows
- Snakes
- Live Turkeys
- my house when Tom is not home
- People with "beady" eyes. ( I dated a guy like that....super creepy)\
- Dark water
- ALL FISH
Thanks for the comments Wendi. I am a comment junkie, It gives me some sort of feedback and feeds my Narcissism =) Just Joking
